Délégation des Médecins Francophones en Formation ASBL

The voice of doctors in training

Délégation des Médecins Francophones en Formation is the non-profit association that represents and defends specialist doctors in training across the three French-speaking university networks — UCLouvain, ULB and ULiège — before political, academic and hospital authorities.

Our values

Independent — and it is written into the statutes

DeMeFF is run by doctors in training, for doctors in training. It is independent of any political influence, trade-union affiliation or ideological allegiance.

The association is currently forming a new board from among French-speaking doctors in training. More on this.

"Independence from any affiliation, ideology, political influence or dogma is inseparable from the proper representation of all doctors in training of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation."Our values — Independence
Our mission

Defending decent training and working conditions

Born in the wake of the strike of doctors in training of 20 May 2021, DeMeFF sits on the National Joint Committee for Doctors and Hospitals and coordinates the interests of doctors in training in the negotiations that concern them. Its work rests on three pillars.

Legal

Enforcing the law that already exists: counting and paying working time, premiums, opting-out, public holidays. Legal opinions, formal notices and, where necessary, court action — the association is a recognised representative professional union.

Quality of training

Accreditation commissions, criteria and curricula, an independent appeals body, supervision and safety at work. As much a public-health issue as a working-conditions one.

Technology

Tools that make rights verifiable: independent working-time logging, field data collection, published research. Without a reliable record, rights remain theoretical.
